Legiant Receives SAS 70 Certification

AUSTIN, TX – August 18, 2008 – Legiant, a leading provider of workforce management software, announced results of their SAS 70 Type II audit. With the introduction of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the SAS 70 Type II audit was identified as the only acceptable method of assuring a third party that a service organization's controls are in place and working effectively. According to the independent service auditor's report, Legiant's hosted data center has the necessary controls in place and these controls are operating effectively.

Legiant provides attendance tracking software that can be offered as SaaS, which reduces internal IT costs, increases the speed of implementation and ensures the correct controls are in place to protect critical data associated with time keeping. "As a leading time and attendance system provider, we take data security and reliability very seriously," said Rod Crane, CTO of Legiant. "Due to the nature of human resources, it is critical for any organization offering hosted time and attendance services to be SAS 70 compliant. By passing the SAS 70 audit we have verified that our offering, hosted at the data center, meets the control needs of our clients."

Legiant is determined to provide the most flexible, capable and intuitive time and attendance system in the industry. Passing the SAS 70 Type II audit is only one quality benchmark utilized by Legiant to ensure they are providing the best service possible.

Say “HLO” to Alternative Financing for Time and Attendance Software

AUSTIN, TX – August 6, 2008 – Legiant, a leading provider of time and attendance and workforce management solutions, announced an alternative investment program for customers seeking a new time and attendance system with minimal upfront costs. The Legiant HLO, or Hosted Lease to Own, purchase option combines aspects of two popular payment models – the “Software as a Service” model and the traditional “Perpetual Software License” model.

Legiant designed the HLO model to allow organizations to own their time and attendance system after 24 or 36 months. Additionally, the Legiant HLO allows for lower upfront costs and lower monthly costs than typical purchase options. “We setup the HLO payment model based on customer demand to provide a robust time and attendance system without the high initial costs generally involved with purchasing a new system,” said Jason Derek, Account Executive. “The Legiant HLO also offers the benefits of software as a service such as quick implementation and reduced internal IT costs.”

The Legiant HLO option was launched last week and has already generated a buzz from organizations searching for time and attendance software. Legiant will continue to offer traditional payment methods in addition to the new HLO option. Additional details and a payment model comparison are available at the Legiant website – www.legiant.com.

American TV & Appliance Saves Big with Legiant Timecard

With nearly 2,100 employees at 18 different locations in the Midwest, American TV & Appliances needed a time and attendance system that provided excellent support with advanced features such as scheduling and an XML API. Before upgrading to Legiant, employees were not recording their time because they did not like using time clocks. As a result, the high number of missing punches made it impossible for management to know what hours employees were actually working.

By utilizing Legiant's XML API technology, American is now able to use their Point-of-Sale terminals to record employee time, greatly reducing the amount of missing punches. Plus, American can determine if a sales professional has not clocked out. In the case of a missing punch, Legiant Timecard records the sales person's last finalized sale, which helps determine if there was an early departure.
